A perfect steak should be juicy, with a gorgeous crust and a beautiful reddish color inside. Meat should be tender, tasty and well-seasoned.
Here are 10 easy steps to follow in order to cook a perfect steak:
– Use only quality piece of meat: porterhouse, hanger, or filet.
– Keep in mind that simplicity is a must. You do not need to use particular cooking techniques and complicated sauces. When you’ve got a quality steak, you just want to taste the meat!
– Take the steaks out of the fridge at least 1 hour before cooking, and allow them to come to room temperature to avoid undercooking the interior.
– Heat a heavy-bottomed griddle pan over a medium-high heat. Pan should be hot.
– Good meat seasoning. Do not use spices or anything odd. Just use only abundant black pepper. No salt in this phase.
– No fats are needed if you use a right heavy pan and you preheat it in the right way.
– Cook 5/6 minutes each side for a thick piece without piercing it with a fork. Flavor with abundant coarse salt just at the end.
– Don’t slice your steak right away. Let it to rest a little. Make sure you cut perpendicular to the steak’s natural grain.
– Do not add anything else: no sauces – no butter – no oil.
– Serve your steak with mixed salads and arugula, flavourful Italian tomatoes and a glass of Chianti Classico Great Selection wine.
