Celebrating 50 years of Sassicaia. Lucca will again host the Anteprima Vini della Costa with tasting of winemakers from Tuscan Coast from 5 to 6 of May at the Real Collegio of Lucca, Italy. The wine producers will personally present their wines: over 600 wines telling the complex story of Tuscan wine production and outlining the personal stories of men and women who creates here great wines. The first floor of the prestigious Real Collegio of Lucca will welcome producers from Massa Carrara to Grosseto, Lucca, Pisa and Livorno.
One of the highlights of this 2018 edition will be a tribute to the “father wine” of the Tuscan coast, Sassicaia with the special chance to experience a wine vertical tasting covering five decades, from 1968 up to 2018. This wine is the jewel in the crown of the splendid Tenuta San Guido, in Bolgheri, owned by Nicolò Incisa della Rocchetta, honorary president of the Associazione Grandi Cru of the Tuscan Coast.
The 2018 edition will also present a selection of Hungarian winemakers carefully selected by Tibor Gal, the son of the great and celebrated winemaker who gifted the world with Ornellaia wines. In addition to the international presence of Hungary, Anteprima will also be exploring the wines of its neighbours distrects of Tuscany with a salon dedicated to the “Other Tuscany”. A Master Class will be held to take advantage of the “Other Tuscany” wine producers: “Selvapiana- The history of Chianti Rufina “. It will include wines starting from 1965 and will develop into a rich vertical tasting of Bucerchiale from the first vintage, 1979, to the present days. Besides these two vertical masterclasses there will be a variety of other wine tastings including “Etna. The red of the volcano and, “Nebbiolo The King”.
Special guest is Il Giardino di Anteprima is new for 2018 and will offer visitors the chance to taste the gastronomical delights of Tuscany in a refined and relaxing setting, where they can accompany their food with a selection of region’s wines. As in the past, Anteprima is organized with the partnership the Lucca Classica Music Festival and thus visitors will enjoy musical events, discussions, performances, and collaborations between music and wine throughout the city of Lucca.
This year Anteprima is proud to announce a new and extraordinary partnership with the Order of Architects of Lucca. A professional and accredited programme for architects that explores the Tuscan wine landscape through a series of dedicated meetings that culminates in the Biodynamic Congress on May 4, on the eve of the official opening of Anteprima at the Royal College of Lucca.
